You can now set your students a set of 8 phonics-based tasks for each phoneme, which will help improve their ability to make the sound-spelling link accurately, and therefore improve their speaking listening skills. They’ll be able to do some dictation at word and sentence level and even be given feedback on how accurate their pronunciation is! There is also a mid-year assessment and an end of programme final assessment, known as the French/ Spanish/ German Phonics Driving Test. This is available in French, Spanish and German for each of the key phonemes, and you as a teacher will get immediate feedback on how each of your students is progression in their phonics knowledge!
